About – TEC-Search

Design-Cities-Network TEC-Search has been evolving since 1974 when the W.K. Kellogg Foundation funded the “Innovation & New Enterprise Formation” at the University of Maine: Portland. This project was based upon an MIT Foundation proposal to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 1973 for the transfer of intellectual property to facilitate new enterprise formation in rural states like Maine. It was rejected by the NSF and funded by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.

The search for patents; nonetheless, the entanglement of intellectual property is often complicated and expensive. Small and medium sized companies (SME) seldom have the R&D departments to scout for complementary products and/or manufacturing process trade secrets.

IP-Logistics and XFactors work with SME’s that are manufacturing and service companies with 100-500 employees who can license a product and scale. These companies often have core manufacturing competencies, management expertise and cash flow to scale with minimal risk around niche product-markets under $100,000,000 in annual sales. These companies are also valuable income generating assets to a city, state and possibly to the entire U.S.

IP-Logistics, by challenging cities to organize a national Design Cities Network, works with cities willing to allocate financial and human resources to shape a sustainable economy. By focusing initially on re-design, American Cities could spawn the intellectual property “IP Economy” to replace the Information Economy by 2040. As a result, those cities that embrace this challenge will thrive as they produce primary jobs and local headquarters. See www.design-cities-network.com

Dr. Delen is the holder of the William S. Spears Endowed Chair , Patterson Family Endowed Chair in Business Analytics and Director of Research for the Center for Health Systems Innovation.

Duncan Wilkie

Duncan Wilkie…inquisitive, multi-disciplinary, critical thinker, articulate spokesperson, etc. Duncan entered LSU with a double major in Physics and Mathematics major in the Fall, 2019 with 70 transferable credits. He decided not to graduate in 2021 at age 18 when LSU offered him an undergraduate mathematics degree. Duncan will enroll at LSU for the entire four years and complete a physics degree as well. However, Duncan did incorporate his first research lab in 2021. When Duncan was six, he designed his first anti-gravity machine, purchased the components at a local hardware store and assembled them. Duncan will complete a Ph.D. as a theoretical physicist so that he can function as a BRIDGE between various disciplines. Why LSU? It is only one of three sites in the world for the gravitational antenna (LIGO) where physicists from around the globe visit periodically. Duncan will organize a cadre of 21st century young uncommon friends while at LSU beginning in 2023.
